Two people have been rescued after becoming trapped on rocks and cut off by the tide at North Fistral.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team was called at 7.09pm on Wednesday following reports of casualties stranded on the rocks.
Newquay RNLI’s inshore rescue boat was launched, while Padstow Coastguard Rescue Team and the South Western Ambulance Service were also sent to the scene.
The lifeboat crew and members of the public helped bring both casualties safely onto the beach, where they were assessed for injuries by ambulance crews.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 was also tasked but was later stood down.
The Coastguard thanked local businesses, members of Newquay’s surfing community and the Newquay Blue Balls swimming group for helping during the incident.
It said the rescue was one of several recent incidents in the area outside RNLI lifeguard patrol hours, which are currently between 10am and 6pm.
People are being urged to visit lifeguarded beaches during patrol hours and follow the advice provided by lifeguards.
Anyone who sees someone in difficulty at the coast should call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
