Newquay and Padstow Coastguard teams, Newquay RNLI lifeboat volunteers, police, the ambulance service and Newquay-based Coastguard helicopter 924 were sent to the incident.

The Coastguard said the casualty was eventually brought ashore by lifeboat volunteers, Coastguard personnel and police officers.

They were then handed into the care of the ambulance service.

No further details about the casualty’s condition have been released.

The Coastguard said anyone who sees somebody in difficulty around the coast should call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
