Newquay Town Council has announced that its Easter Egg-stravaganza has been postponed by one day due to adverse weather forecasts.
The event, which had been due to take place on Saturday, will now be held on Easter Sunday.
It will still take place on the Killacourt between 10:00 and 4:00, with organisers confirming the full programme of free activities remains unchanged.
Families can expect an Easter egg hunt, storytelling sessions, face painting, mini fairground rides, an Easter trail and a children’s disco at the Bandstand.
The BIG Newquay Market, organised by Cornwall Shop Small in partnership with Newquay BID, will also move to Sunday and run alongside the event.
Two separate Easter town trails, including the Easter Trail and Golden Rocks Hunt, are unaffected and will take place as planned from 7 to 18 April.
Mayor of Newquay, Councillor Drew Creek, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause, but the safety and comfort of our families and visitors is always our priority. We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Killacourt on Sunday 5th April. It is going to be a fantastic day and well worth the wait!”
