A Newquay business has pledged its support to a popular harbour fundraiser, as preparations continue for this year’s Joe Way Paddle for Life.
Colourworx Newquay has committed £500 as a returning sponsor, adding to growing backing from local businesses for the annual event.
The company, which is also a long term supporter of Radio Newquay, has backed the paddle previously. Organisers say its continued involvement highlights the strength of community support behind the fundraiser.
Money raised through the event goes towards children’s charities and initiatives focused on youth wellbeing and mental health.
Nick Quince, from Colourworx Newquay, said: “The Paddle for Life is a fantastic event for Newquay and something we’ve been proud to support before. It brings the whole community together for a really important cause and we’re pleased to be backing it again this year.”
Event organiser Matt Way added: “It’s brilliant to have Nick and the Colourworx team supporting the Paddle again. Local business support makes a huge difference and helps us continue to grow the event and the funds raised each year.”
Organisers are now encouraging more businesses to get involved as £500 sponsors. Sponsorship contributions go directly into the charity fundraising pot and include recognition across event promotion and on the day.
They are also appealing for high-value prizes for the event’s online charity draw, including experiences, accommodation stays, equipment or vouchers.
The Joe Way Paddle for Life takes place on Thursday 18 June at Newquay Harbour from 3pm.
Since it began, the event has raised more than £185,000 for charities across Cornwall and beyond.
