Henver Road crossing survey reopened

Cornwall Council is asking for feedback on plans for a new pedestrian crossing on Henver Road in Newquay.

The council says the consultation has been re-opened to gather more views from the community before a final decision is made.

The proposal would see a traffic signal-controlled Puffin crossing installed on Henver Road, to the east of the junction with Church Street, near the former Warrens bakery.

Cornwall Council says the aim is to improve pedestrian access to existing bus stops on Henver Road and provide a safer crossing point near the Church Street junction.

The authority says the crossing would also improve links towards Nansledan and local school routes.

The proposed location has been chosen following an assessment of the area.

The council says the western side of the junction is more constrained because of reduced visibility, limited space for vehicle manoeuvring, existing driveways, greater utility impacts and its proximity to an existing crossing.

Feedback received through the consultation will be reviewed before a final decision is made.

Residents are being asked to give their views by Monday 6 July 2026 through the Let's Talk Cornwall website.
