A quirky Cornish tradition will return to Crantock this September as the village hosts its annual Bale Push for the 26th time.
The event will take place on Friday 11 September, with proceedings getting underway from 5pm.
Organisers say this year's event will support Man Down Cornwall, Crantock Surf Life Saving Club and other local groups and organisations.
Chairperson Nigel Eustice said the return of the popular Bale Push Man mascot would be welcomed by spectators.
"It will be great to see the Bale Push Man back as he always brings a smile to people’s faces, we always have supporters asking where he is and when will he be ready?" he said.
The evening begins with junior competitions for under-eights, under-12s and under-16s, followed by the ladies' event.
From around 7.30pm, teams in the Open and 180s categories will tackle the full quarter-mile course through the village.
Teams of four compete to push a round bale of straw weighing around 420lbs (190kg) and measuring 4ft 6in in diameter up and down the village's hills, starting and finishing between Crantock's two pubs.

Adult teams can enter on the evening for £10, while children's teams cost £5. Parking will be available at the village hall.
Live entertainment will be provided by 1940s singer Andy Marshall during the early evening, before bands The Old Albion and The Cornishman take to the stage later in the night.
The Bale Push has become a long-standing fixture in the village calendar and has raised significant sums for local causes over the years.
Mr Eustice said: "The total raised by the Bale Push since 2000 now tops over an incredible £190,000 which has all been donated to Cornish charities and local organisations."
He added: "Remember, you don't have to be mad to take part - but it helps!"
