Nansledan Arts Festival returns with nine days of creativity and community events

A scarecrow trail is a popular part of the Nansledan Arts Festival

The Nansledan Arts Festival is set to return this weekend with a programme of art, music, workshops and family activities across the Newquay community.

The festival will run from 13 to 21 June and will feature a variety of events, including an art trail, workshops, live performances, comedy and community activities. Organisers say this year's festival has a fiesta theme and is designed to offer something for all ages.

Among the attractions will be an art exhibition and trail displayed throughout Nansledan, alongside creative workshops covering subjects such as photography, poetry, drumming, mask-making and drawing. Circus performers from Circo Kernow will also take part, offering performances and workshops for families.

The festival will conclude on Saturday 20 June  with a performance by folk-Americana band Track Dogs at St Michael's Church in Newquay as part of their 20th anniversary tour.

Organisers say the event aims to celebrate creativity, encourage community participation and showcase local artistic talent.

A Community Day will take place on Saturday 20 June across several locations in Nansledan, including the Community Centre, Naturally Learning Allotment and Park Mengleudh. The free event will feature a craft fair, photography workshop, art activities, food, face-painting, a classic car show, circus and dance workshops, community art sessions and a performance from Circo Kernow. Visitors will also be able to explore the festival's Art Exhibition and Scarecrow Trail, which will run throughout the weekend.
