Residents are being invited to come together for a community celebration in Nansledan this weekend as The Big Lunch and Big Help Out return to the growing Newquay neighbourhood.
The event will take place on Sunday 7 June between 11am and 2pm, with activities centred around Parc Mengleudh.
The day will begin with a Family Fun Run around the wetlands. Registration opens at 10.30am in Parc Mengleudh, with all participants receiving a medal and certificate on completion.
The run is being sponsored once again by Moore Movement Gym in Nansledan. Gym owner Brendan Moore will lead a warm-up session before runners set off.
Following the run, residents are encouraged to bring a picnic and join The Big Lunch in the park.
Entertainment will include a quiz hosted by Leigh from Nansledan Stores, alongside music and family-friendly games throughout the afternoon.
Organisers say tables, chairs and light refreshments will be provided by the Nansledan Community Association.
Should wet weather affect the event, activities will move indoors to the Nansledan Community Centre.
The event also forms part of The Big Help Out, with volunteers being sought to help marshal the fun run, put up bunting, set up tables and take part in a litter pick following the event.
Anyone interested in volunteering is being asked to contact Theresa by emailing nansledancommunity@gmail.com.
Organisers say the event is an opportunity for neighbours to meet one another, enjoy a day of community activities and celebrate volunteering in the area.
