Motorsport fans will be heading to the coast this weekend as the Watergate Sprint takes place near Newquay.
The event runs on Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 September, and sees a variety of cars and vehicles travel at speed along a 900-metre stretch of the B3276 between Porth and Watergate Bay, with some reaching up to 100mph.
More than 70 cars are expected to take part across different categories, including under-17s and electric vehicles. The event also raises money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
The sprint has been running since 2018, originally as a hill climb before switching direction to become a sprint from Porth to Watergate Bay. It remains the only closed-road speed event of its kind in Cornwall.
Road closures will be in place between 06:00 and 18:00 on both Saturday and Sunday, with diversions signposted. More details are available at www.watergatebaymotorsport.co.uk.
