As Margaret Ashwood prepares to pull her final pint and close the doors of the Godolphin Arms, we’ve been hearing about how her journey at the Newquay venue began over four decades ago.
Known affectionately as Muff, she announced on her 84th birthday that she will be closing the pub and hotel doors this Sunday after 41 years. She described the decision to retire as 'quite devastating.'
In this heartfelt interview with Radio Newquay, she reflects on her time at the Godolphin Arms, shares memories from her years on Henver Road, and opens up about the end of an era for her and her memories of football team, Godolphin Atlantic, which folded last year.
