Cornwall Council says aggression and violence towards its staff and contractors will not be tolerated following incidents at its Household Waste and Recycling Centres.
The council said today that these incidents have led to some members of the public being banned from all sites.
“Due to ongoing police investigations, we are unable to comment on specific incidents,” the authority added.
Carol Mould, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Unfortunately, there have been multiple incidents at our household recycling centres of totally inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour from members of the public.
“We will not tolerate any abuse, aggression, or violence towards our staff or contractors, and where people behave in this way, we will not hesitate to ban them from the sites."
The council added that in cases where incidents occur, footage from CCTV, ANPR (automatic number plate recognition), and body-worn cameras may be used to assist investigations.
