The RSPCA’s Cornwall branch has temporarily paused taking in new animals while it focuses on caring for those already at the centre.
Based near St Columb Major, the branch is currently looking after a large number of dogs and cats in need of new homes.
The team is also recruiting staff and volunteers to support its work at the Cornwall HQ - which operates without financial support from the national RSPCA. Volunteers are also required for the Newquay charity shop which fundraises for the centre at Quoit.
Foster carers are also being sought to help ease pressure by providing temporary homes for animals in need.
