A person has been rescued from cliffs in Newquay following an incident on Tuesday evening.
Newquay and Padstow Coastguard teams carried out a rope rescue near Tolcarne after being called to assist police and ambulance crews.
The casualty was safely brought to the top of the cliffs and handed over to the ambulance service for further care.
Police say a person was detained under the Mental Health Act, and the Coastguard is reminding people to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard if they see someone in difficulty along the coast.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called on the evening of Tuesday 13 January following a concern for welfare for a man at cliffs in the Tolcarne area of Newquay. It was reported the man was on the wrong side of the railings. Coastguard and the ambulance service also both attended. The man was brought to a place of safety by Coastguard and detained under the Mental Health Act."
