A special production exploring the realities of County Lines drug gangs and youth knife crime is taking place in Newquay on Friday.
The production, CODE, by award-winning theatre company Justice in Motion, combines physical theatre, parkour, trials bike stunts, and live music to tell the story of a teenager drawn into organised crime. Inspired by real-life case studies, it aims to raise awareness of how young people are groomed and exploited by drug networks.
The show will be performed at The Bishop’s School, with two performances for pupils from Kernow Learning and one free public showing. It is being brought to Newquay by the local non-profit organisation Groundswell, with support from Safer Stronger, Kernow Learning, WildWorks and others.
Groundswell said the performance was an opportunity to start conversations and raise awareness around youth exploitation and community safety.
The CODE project also includes a free digital resource offering practical guidance on recognising the signs of exploitation and accessing local support.
The public performance is open to all and free to watch on Friday 10th October at 4:30 at The Bishop’s School, Treninnick Hill, Newquay, TR7 2SR. Tickets can be booked via jointhegroundswell.co.uk
