The Mayor of Newquay is encouraging local groups and organisations to apply for funding through Newquay Town Council’s 2026 Community Grant Scheme.
The scheme has been launched to help not-for-profit organisations support community projects and activities across the town.
Newquay Town Council says the grants are designed to help improve quality of life for residents and visitors, while strengthening community connections and supporting positive local impact.
Projects eligible for funding must fall within one or more categories set out by the council. These include enhancing local events, promoting community pride, supporting safety campaigns and encouraging young people to engage with local issues, history or culture beyond the school curriculum.
Sports initiatives and environmental projects can also apply, alongside schemes aimed at promoting Newquay to wider audiences to help boost tourism and the local economy.
The council says the grants are intended to support initiatives which align with the town’s core values and priorities, contributing to the wellbeing and continued development of Newquay.
Mayor Drew Creek explains how it works and why the scheme was revamped...
Further information about eligibility and applications is available on the council’s website.
