Free summer music events announced for Newquay

A series of free live music and entertainment events will return to Newquay this summer.

Newquay Town Council has announced the line-up for the 2026 Newquay Sessions, which will see five events held on the Killacourt throughout July and August.

The programme includes live music, DJs, family entertainment and community activities, with all events free to attend.

The series begins with The First Wave on Saturday 4 July from 10am until 6pm. The event will feature performances from Chris Hogg, a K-Pop tribute act and The Qwest, alongside entertainment from Radio Newquay. The event coincides with the BIG Newquay Market and Newquay Carnival.

A Country Hoedown will follow on Saturday 18 July from midday until 8pm, featuring performances from The Cornish Cowboy, Bow River and Deeks Cowboys, alongside line dancing and family activities.

The annual School's Out Disco will take place on Saturday 25 July from 1pm until 3pm, providing a family-friendly celebration to mark the start of the summer holidays.

A new event, the Sunset Session, will be held on Saturday 15 August from 3pm until 9pm. The line-up includes DJ Jamie Elliott, DJ Proof, Sean Lloyd and DVotion.

The final event in the series, People's Playlist, takes place on Saturday 22 August from midday until 8pm. The community-selected line-up includes Amy Todd, Joe Hurworth, COLOUR – The Band, C Bone and Still Dizzy, with Radio Newquay supporting the event throughout the day.

All events are free to attend and no tickets are required. Bar facilities will be available at all events except the School's Out Disco.

Steve Facer, Director of Resources at Newquay Town Council, said the programme had been designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences.

He said: "These events have been curated so they offer something for everyone, bringing the community together in a stunning location where people can enjoy a range of free activities and performances.

"Events are an integral part of our cultural fabric and form an important strand in our corporate plan, supporting local performers and businesses, driving footfall and increasing dwell time in the town centre. These events punctuate the year and add colour and vibrancy to our community calendar."
