The family of a great-grandmother from Cornwall have paid tribute after she died following a road traffic collision near Newquay.
Eighty-eight-year-old Patricia Simmons, from Higher Fraddon, was involved in a collision on the A392 at White Acres on the morning of Wednesday 26 November. Emergency services were called at about 09:50 to reports of a crash involving a red Ford Fiesta and a yellow JCB tractor.
Mrs Simmons was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth but died from her injuries the following day.
In a statement, her family said: “Unfortunately and sadly she succumbed to her injuries the next day. She leaves behind a husband, four children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.”
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they continue to investigate the collision. Officers from the Roads Policing Team said anyone with information should contact them on 101 or via the Devon and Cornwall Police website, quoting reference 50250303279.
