The season of Christmas events continues in Newquay this weekend as East Street gears up for its first ever Christmas celebration.
Eastside Yuletide, taking place on Saturday, 14th December 2024 is organised by the East Street business community in collaboration with Newquay Business Improvement District (BID), the festive event will feature a variety of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
The day’s highlights include a festive dog fancy dress competition, with judging taking place at 4pm outside the Post Office, and prizes donated by The Pet Centre. For those feeling competitive, the Cornwall Dukes Youth American Football Team will host games at 3:30pm. Younger visitors can enjoy an elf-on-a-shelf treasure hunt, exploring the street to find mischievous elves hiding in local businesses.
Live music will fill the air throughout the day, starting with The Velvets at 1:30pm, followed by Orchard Voices at 2:30pm, and culminating in a show-stopping performance by The Clams at 6pm. Participating businesses along East Street are also joining in the festivities. All Things Cornwall will offer tastings of their cheese, crackers, relishes, and more, alongside a hamper giveaway, while Rolling Joe will provide tattoo walk-ups for visitors.
Funded and coordinated by Newquay BID and local businesses, Eastside Yuletide promises a free, family-friendly day of fun and festive cheer, bringing the community together to celebrate the season in style.
