A Cornwall councillor has called for the council to scrap what she described as a “daft” one-size-fits-all parking system.
Joanna Kenny, who represents Newquay Central and Pentire, said the Cabinet member for Transport had asked local councillors for views on how parking charges should apply in their areas.
Cllr Kenny said she would like to see the return of previous arrangements, including free parking after 4pm in all car parks in her division.
She added that the change could also see a return to winter free parking in coastal car parks, but warned there were “no promises, of course.”
