The Boardmasters Festival is launching a new initiative to support Newquay businesses in a bid to increase footfall in the town centre.
Festival organisers are partnering with the Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) to feature local businesses in the Boardmasters app, which reaches around 59,000 users, as well as across social media and other online platforms.
The aim is to raise the profile of local shops and services, encouraging festivalgoers to explore and spend in the town. In the past, the event has faced criticism over claims that businesses lost trade as visitors stayed within the festival sites at Watergate Bay and Fistral.
