Newquay Town Council says a set of public toilets has been forced to close temporarily following two days of what it has described as significant vandalism.
The council says damage to the railway station facilities has been increasing recently, placing additional pressure on staff time and repair costs.
In a statement, Newquay Town Council said it was disappointed by the situation.
“It is disappointing to see facilities that serve the whole community being treated in this way,” the statement said.
“To keep the facilities safe and allow our team to carry out the necessary repairs, the toilets will be closed until further notice. We will provide an update as soon as they are ready to reopen.”
The council is urging anyone who witnesses vandalism or suspicious behaviour in the area to report it to police by calling 101.
