It happened at around 6.30pm on Friday (19th December). Officers were called to reports of a collision on Porth Way, at the junction with Well Way.
It involved a white Volkswagen Golf and an electric bike.
The rider of the bike, a man in his 20s from the Newquay area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been informed.
Local road closures were put in place while officers conducted an examination of the scene. The road was reopened at around 10.30pm.
