Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision in Newquay

It happened at around 6.30pm on Friday (19th December). Officers were called to reports of a collision on Porth Way, at the junction with Well Way.

It involved a white Volkswagen Golf and an electric bike.

The rider of the bike, a man in his 20s from the Newquay area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been informed.

Local road closures were put in place while officers conducted an examination of the scene. The road was reopened at around 10.30pm.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "If you witnessed the incident or have any information or dash cam footage that could help with enquiries, please contact us via our website or by calling 101 quoting log 670 of 19/12/25."
