A faulty fire hydrant was to blame for a "fountain" like water leak on a busy road in Newquay.
At one point, water was seen gushing several metres into the air from beneath the pavement on Henver Road, opposite Duchy Avenue. Surface water flowed onto the main road and into nearby driveways, with one eyewitness reporting it reached as far as the nearby Co-op.
A spokesperson for South West Water said: “The issue arose from a faulty fire hydrant but our team quickly attended and it’s now been fully repaired.”
