The owner of the Red Lion pub in Newquay has confirmed the venue will be closing for a short period later this month.
In a statement, the company said the pub will close from Friday the 16th while a new publican prepares to take over the site. It added that the closure is expected to be brief, with the aim of reopening as soon as possible once the new operator is in place.
The Red Lion is currently part of the Heritage Pubs portfolio operated by Stonegate Group, but will move into the company’s Pub Partners division from next Friday.
The pub, located on North Quay Hill, is described in an online advert as a traditional venue offering views over the water and easy access to Newquay town centre. The listing highlights its open-plan layout, log-burning stove and wooden bar, describing the interior as warm and welcoming.
