Network Rail has released images showing the scale of damage caused by Storm Goretti on the Newquay to Par rail line.
A spokesperson says teams are working to clear a large number of fallen trees and carry out safety checks before services can resume.
Storm Goretti brought strong winds to South West England overnight Thursday into Friday, bringing down trees and causing power supply issues that affected the signalling system between Par and Newquay.
Great Western Railway says disruption is expected until the end of the day on Tuesday, with rail services not having run on the line since before the storm on Thursday evening.
