Plans have been submitted to build up to five homes on the site of an existing bungalow in Newquay.
The application seeks permission in principle for between four and five dwellings at The Nest, off Holywell Road, close to Quarry Park Road.
Two possible designs have been put forward, both featuring three two-bedroom houses alongside additional accommodation built above parking spaces.
Under the first option, a single two-bedroom coach house would be constructed above a parking area, bringing the total number of homes to four.
The alternative would provide two one-bedroom coach houses, also with parking beneath, increasing the development to five properties.
The site is currently occupied by a detached bungalow, a garage and other outbuildings, with access from Holywell Road.
Drawings submitted by Purelight Architecture and Landscape show three terraced houses towards the rear of the site, with the coach house accommodation closer to the road.
The indicative designs also include landscaped areas and parking provision, with illustrations showing how the proposed buildings could sit alongside neighbouring properties.
The application is seeking permission in principle, meaning the council is being asked to consider whether residential development of this scale would be acceptable on the site.
If approved, a further application for technical details consent would be required before construction could begin.
Cornwall Council is considering the proposals under planning reference PA26/07486. A decision has yet to be made.
