St Francis Dogs Home is appealing for donations towards dental treatment for a ten-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier whose owner has died.
The dog, named George, was left alone in the home he had always known following the death of his owner.
St Francis Dogs Home stepped in to take him into its care and has since found him a temporary foster home, where he is being supported as he adjusts to his change in circumstances.
However, George needs extensive dental treatment and aftercare before he can be put up for adoption.
The charity is hoping to raise £600 to cover the costs and give him the opportunity to find a permanent new home.

Staff say George is a gentle dog who still has plenty of love to give, despite the upheaval he has experienced.
The charity is encouraging people to contribute towards his treatment, with donations of any amount welcomed.
Anyone wishing to support the appeal can find more information and donate through the George the Gentle Staffy fundraising page on JustGiving.
