A Newquay theatre group is celebrating after picking up two awards at the Cornwall Drama Association Theatre Festival.
Newquay Dramatic Society, which runs the Lane Theatre, received four nominations for its production of Handbagged by Moira Buffini.
The group went on to win Best Costumes, while cast member Adam Clark was named Best Supporting Actor.
The society, which is a registered charity, said it was delighted with the recognition.
In a statement, the group said: "We’re over the moon to announce that Newquay Dramatic Society had received 4 nominations at the Cornwall Drama Association Theatre Festival and won Best Costumes and Best Supporting Actor for the brilliant Adam Clark!"
There was further cause for celebration, with Sheree Reynolds, who played the Young Queen in Handbagged, winning the event's Heads or Tails competition.
The society added: "Thank you to everyone who supported the production."
Handbagged is a play by British playwright Moira Buffini, examining the relationship between Queen Elizabeth II and Margaret Thatcher, who served as British Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990.
The comedy imagines the conversations between the two women, exploring their contrasting personalities and political views during Thatcher's time in Downing Street.
The Cornwall Drama Association was established more than 50 years ago to represent amateur theatre groups and individual members across Cornwall.
Its annual Theatre Festival celebrates the achievements of amateur performers and production teams, culminating in an awards evening each October.
The association also organises occasional workshops covering different aspects of theatre, offering members opportunities to develop their skills.
Newquay Dramatic Society operates the Lane Theatre, providing a venue for amateur theatre and live performances in the town.
