The Newquay Lottery not only gives participants the chance to win cash each week, but it also helps fund Radio Newquay and supports local good causes. Now, local clubs, charities, community groups, and societies are invited to apply for the 2024 Community Grant Scheme, funded entirely by lottery players.
This year, three £500 grants are available for not-for-profit organisations in and around Newquay. Previous recipients of Newquay Lottery funds include Newquay Foodbank, Newquay Hockey Club, Lusty Surf Life Saving Club, Crantock Street Community Garden, and Newquay AFC Youth.
Applications for the 2024 grants are open until midnight on Monday, 18th November. To apply, visit NewquayLottery.com to review the criteria and terms. The recipients will be announced in the run-up to Christmas.
Radio Newquay Manager and presenter Mark Chapple expressed his excitement for the scheme: "I have been lucky enough over the last few years to tell hundreds of players that they have won cash in the weekly prize draws, but to hand over money to community projects in our town is even better. Last year we decided to make the announcements in the run-up to Christmas. Think of us as Santa spreading some bonus festive cheer around Newquay."
He encouraged local groups to apply, adding, "We love reading the applications and hearing about the many great projects supporting people and communities in and around Newquay. I urge as many community groups and organisations to apply and see what happens."
Good luck to all applicants, and a big thank you to the weekly players of the Newquay Lottery who make these grants possible!
