Newquay Town Council say CCTV is being reviewed after electrics were broken, fittings damaged and infrastructure items smashed.
Witnesses or anyone with information are being asked to contact the police.
A spokesperson for the Town Council said: "This is not minor damage - this is criminal destruction of public property. Due to the scale of destruction, these facilities are now closed until further notice.
"We know this will inconvenience many people who use the park responsibly, but this level of reckless behaviour is completely unacceptable. Let’s be clear: this vandalism is costing you - the taxpayer - thousands of pounds. It’s damaging public property and ruining facilities for the entire community.
"We are currently reviewing CCTV footage and have reported the matter to the Police. If you have any information, however minor it may seem, please come forward. The incident is believed to have occurred between 17:00 and 22:00. Report directly to us or contact the Police. Our parks belong to everyone. Let’s not let a few mindless individuals ruin them for all."
