2025 is shaping up to be a big year for young Newquay band - The Newqs, as they make waves in the local music scene.
With a packed schedule ahead, the band is gearing up for standout performances, including a gig at Steam Bar on Friday (21st February 7-9pm) and an appearance at Cornwall Music for Youth Frequencies in March.
Made up of two sibling pairs, The Newqs have music in their blood, with both sets of siblings having dads in the industry. While they’ve built a reputation with their energetic covers, they’re eager to explore their own songwriting in the future.
From musical inspirations to industry experiences and the skills they've gained along the way, we’ll hear directly from the band members about their journey so far. PRESS PLAY to hear our report from Finty Mitchell, who met The Newqs.
