Organisers of Newquay's popular Zombie Crawl say they are closely monitoring the weather forecast ahead of Saturday's event, with a decision on whether the parade can go ahead expected later this week.
Newquay BID says the current forecast is not looking favourable.
However, organisers have confirmed that the free workshops and Halloween activities taking place around the town will go ahead regardless of the weather.
A spokesperson for Newquay BID said: "We wanted to share an update regarding the weather forecast for this Saturday's Newquay Zombie Crawl.
"Unfortunately, the current forecast is not looking favourable. We are monitoring the conditions closely and will be making a final decision later this week on whether the Zombie Crawl parade can go ahead as planned.
"The good news is that our free workshops and activities will definitely be going ahead! So, whatever happens with the parade, there will still be plenty of spooky fun to enjoy around Newquay."
The update comes as Cornwall prepares for a spell of potentially severe weather, with strong winds and heavy rain forecast towards the end of the week.
Organisers have stressed that no decision has yet been made about the parade.
The spokesperson added: "Please keep an eye on our social media channels for further updates. We will share more information as soon as we can.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding."
The Zombie Crawl is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 24 October, with hundreds of participants expected to dress as zombies, monsters and other Halloween characters.
The parade is due to leave Oakleigh Terrace at 3pm, making its way through Newquay before finishing near Sainsbury's at around 4.30pm.
Free family activities are also planned around the town throughout the day.
