After what's been described as a "long journey", staff and pupils at Newquay Primary Academy are getting ready to move to their new academy building.
Originally due to open in September 2021, the project faced delays before construction company Caledonian Modular went into administration, forcing the build to halt - and start from scratch after a number of faults were found.
The build has now been completed by Kier Construction and the keys handed over to Cornwall Education Learning Trust and Newquay Primary staff. Eventually, the school will be home to 420 pupils in 14 classrooms.
It features a large playground, green space, a dedicated design technology kitchen, activity/movement studio, library, main hall and kitchen.
Executive Headteacher, Mr Craig Hayes has told Radio Newquay both the staff and students are "very excited" to move into the new building and "continue their learning and development in the incredible new space".
