The mayor of Newquay has awarded the inaugural Mayor's Award for Excellence in Tourism to Newquay Holiday Park.
Drew Creek expressed his admiration for the team at the park, where his family recently stayed while "between houses." He said, “One of the wonderful privileges of being Mayor of Newquay is that you get to engage with local businesses and organisations doing good work. I decided that as Mayor I would recognise some of this brilliant work with awards of excellence. These awards will cover different areas of life in Newquay.”
Speaking about his experience at Newquay Holiday Park, he continued, “Tourism is such an important part of Newquay’s economy, and ensuring high-quality, affordable accommodation is key to this. If visitors to our town have great experiences at parks such as Newquay Holiday Park, they will become repeat visitors. My family and I stayed for several weeks whilst between houses, and we were all blown away with just how high quality the entertainment was, even out of season."
Councillor Creek also praised the park’s staff, noting that, “From Tracey, Steve, and their team on Reception delivering welcoming smiles and useful local information, to the entertainment team led by Zoe delivering exceptionally high-quality entertainment every night, aided by her team Molly, Gregory, Emily, Sammi, Bree, and Nicole, the whole experience truly delivers excellence.”
The Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Tourism is part of a new initiative to recognise outstanding contributions across different areas of life in Newquay, with another winner set to be announced soon.
