Cornwall Council’s dog welfare team has been recognised for its outstanding care of lost and abandoned pets.
The team, which handled 488 reports of stray dogs last year, has been awarded the RSPCA’s Gold Standard PawPrints award for the 14th consecutive year.
The officers work tirelessly to reunite the animals with their owners or place them with rehoming charities when necessary. They have been praised for their commitment to world-class animal welfare.
To help lost dogs get home quickly, the team advises owners to ensure their pets have up-to-date microchip details and an ID tag on their collar.
