Beachgoers are being warned to stay clear of unstable sand dunes at Crantock following recent storms.

Crantock Surf Life Saving Club says storm swells, tides and weather have significantly cut back the main dune, leaving a steep drop and unstable edges.

The club has also warned that rock has been exposed in one section of the dune, increasing the risk of injury for people walking or climbing in the area.

The National Trust is also urging people to take extra care when accessing the beach.

It says recent storms have led to steeper dune edges and channels of water forming across the sand.

Along the side of the Gannel, tall sand banks have appeared within the estuary, changing the landscape.
