The Narrowcliff in Newquay is expected to remain closed until at least Monday after loose cladding on a building was left posing a safety risk following Storm Austen.
The road has been closed following damage to the Cliff Edge development, where sections of cladding have become loose in the high winds.
Cornwall Council says those responsible for the site are arranging specialist equipment to remove the material, but continuing strong winds mean the work cannot be carried out safely. It is unlikely to take place before Monday.

Cornwall Council is putting a signed diversion in place and is urging motorists to avoid the area, follow diversion signs and allow extra time for their journeys.
Elsewhere in Newquay, a hut used by performers beside the bandstand on the Killacourt was damaged during Friday morning's severe weather. The public has been advised to stay away from the affected area.

Fallen trees have also caused disruption across the town, while a wall at Asda's car park has been damaged.
The footpath through Priory Woods remains closed until further notice because of fallen trees.
The damage comes after Storm Austen brought exceptionally strong winds to Cornwall, leaving roads blocked and causing widespread disruption to transport and other services.
