A number of road closures and traffic measures are in place as this year’s Boardmasters festival gets underway.
Organisers say the temporary restrictions are designed to help manage vehicle flow around Newquay and Watergate Bay during peak times of arrival and departure.
One of the key changes is that vehicles will not be allowed to turn left out of Priory Road or Rialton Road onto the A3059 towards the festival site. A diversion will be in place via the Nansledan roundabout, the Quintrell Downs roundabout, and the Halloon roundabout.
This restriction will operate during the following times:
-
Wednesday from 8am to Thursday at 4am
-
Sunday from 6pm to 3am Monday
-
Monday from 8am to 2pm
A one-way system will also be in place for traffic entering and leaving the festival site. This route takes traffic away from Newquay in a loop around the airport and RAF St Mawgan. It will operate:
-
Wednesday and Thursday from 6am to midnight
-
Sunday from 6pm to 3am Monday
-
Monday until 2pm
In addition, a section of the B3276 (Watergate Road) will be closed at various times. The closure stretches from the junction of Alexandra Road and Lewarne Road in Porth to the junction at Watergate Bay and Trevarrian Hill.
Headland Road in Newquay will also be closed, except for residents and businesses, to support the Fistral Beach element of the festival.
Organisers have confirmed that no resident pass or permit schemes will be in place for the 2025 event.
Further details and exact timings are available on the Boardmasters website.
