Crantock Surf Life Saving Club is calling on residents to help them reach their fundraising target and secure thousands of pounds in additional match funding.
The club is racing against time to raise the final £2,000 needed to meet their £14,500 goal. If they don’t hit the target in the next few days, they risk losing vital funds pledged by Sport England.
Following a "hugely busy summer," the club completed 85 hours of patrols in August, working alongside RNLI lifeguards to perform rescues, assists, and provide advice during incidents on the beach and at the Gannel river mouth.
In recent years, Crantock Surf Life Saving Club has seen its membership surge from 88 to over 140, including a group of 70 Nippers. The money raised will go towards purchasing essential equipment, including:
10 Nipper training boards
10 rescue tubes
2 Icon skis
4 youth racing boards
