Thrill seekers are invited to take the plunge this New Year’s Day as the popular Dip for CLIC fundraiser returns to Newquay Harbour.
The event, which supports the charity Young Lives vs Cancer, will take place at 3pm on 1st January - later than usual this year due to tide times. Participants are encouraged to dress in fancy dress or their swimming gear and take a dip to “blow away those cobwebs” while raising money for a good cause.
Organisers say the dip is a great way to start the year on a positive note.
Spectators are welcome to cheer on participants, with plenty of refreshments on offer, including bacon butties, cakes, and hot drinks. Collection buckets will also be available for donations to the charity.
This year, the High Sheriff of Cornwall will lead the charge into the chilly Atlantic waters.
The entry fee for participants is £5 (cash only), and those taking part are encouraged to gather sponsorships to maximise support for the charity.
Organisers said, "We look forward to seeing Dippers and Spectators on New Year’s Day (subject to favourable weather conditions)."
Whether dipping or spectating, the event promises to be a memorable way to start 2025 while helping children and families affected by cancer.
