Newquay Women’s Surf Club CIC (NWSC) has launched a fundraising drive to raise £20,000, with half of the money being matched by Sport England.
Founded in 2020, NWSC is a not-for-profit surf club in Newquay focused on providing affordable, accessible surf coaching for women and girls in the local area.
With the Crowdfunder, NWSC plans to:
- Purchase new equipment to allow more women and young girls to join sessions, ensuring that financial barriers don’t hinder participation.
- Increase subsidised spots in both the Women’s Surf Club and the Little Ladies Surf Club, a programme designed for girls aged 7 to 16.
- Provide more industry training for women through accredited courses, promoting skills development within the surfing community.
If NWSC raises £10,000 from at least 100 supporters, Sport England will contribute a further £10,000 to help the club reach its goal. NWSC has invited the community to support the campaign, which will allow it to continue providing surf lessons, access to a like-minded community, and resources to ensure ongoing participation in the sport.
Donations can be made through NWSC’s Crowdfunder page where you can also pick up some early Chistmas gifts with an amazing selection of Rewards available.
