Dramatic new images have emerged of a cliff rescue in Newquay carried out by emergency crews last week.
Coastal teams were called at around 1.20pm on Wednesday, 3 December, to reports of a man stuck between Newquay Harbour and Towan Beach.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team, HM Coastguard Padstow, Newquay RNLI lifeboats and Coastguard rescue helicopter 924 were all sent to the scene.
Coastguards said a technical rope rescue was carried out, and the man was brought safely to the top of the cliff without injury.
The service thanked everyone involved and reminded the public to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard if they see anyone in difficulty along the coastline.
Images captured by Gareth Horner from the RNLI show the man and a Coastguard volunteer in the spray along the harbour wall, with the RNLI’s inshore lifeboat standing by in heavy seas.
