Several businesses in the Newquay area have been named as finalists in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards.
Lappa Valley is shortlisted in two categories – Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, which it has won for the past two years, and for the first time in the Active and Learning Experience category for its Driver Experiences.
The awards aim to recognise excellence across Cornwall’s visitor economy, with finalists judged through a process that includes mystery visits by industry experts.
In the Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year category, Gwinear Camping and Fishing near Newquay has made the finals, while Monkey Tree Holiday Park has been commended. Watergate Bay Hotel is also in the running in the Large Hotel category.
Keith Southwell, owner of Lappa Valley, said:
“We’re delighted to be recognised in two categories this year. To be listed alongside so many highly respected attractions is a real honour. I’d like to thank our fantastic team for their dedication, and of course, our visitors for their continued support.
“Being named finalists is the icing on the cake for what has been another successful year for Lappa Valley, as we continue to grow and evolve our offering for families – both visiting and locally. We look forward to the awards evening and wish the best of luck to our fellow finalists.”
Lappa Valley said 2025 has been a record-breaking year, with visitor numbers at their highest, major investments in infrastructure, a Railway 200 Gala, and even the release of their own song into the charts.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Truro Cathedral in November.
