A Newquay artist has won a British Art Prize. Diane Griffiths' acrylic painting, Driving Home, features the Texaco garage on Trevemper Road beneath a striking night sky.
She has been awarded the People’s Choice Award 2024, with her work displayed in the OXO Gallery on London’s Southbank. The prize includes a £1,000 Caran d’Ache voucher and a six-page feature in the February 2025 issue of Artists & Illustrators magazine, set to be published on 20th December 2024.
Diane has also revealed that the owners of the garage will be purchasing the painting.
