New orchard created in Newquay

Hundreds of trees have been planted in Newquay.

Residents, parents, families and councillors braved the rain for the special event organised by Forest for Cornwall in partnership with local schools, the Friends of Trenance, Newquay Town Council, Newquay in Bloom, and Newquay BID.

The saplings were planted on a strip of land between the viaduct and the trampoline park at Trenance on Tuesday.

You can listen to our full audio interview with Mayor of Newquay Drew Creek about the project here.
