South West Water engineers have repaired a burst water main in Newquay which left homes and businesses without supply or experiencing low pressure.
The pipe burst in the early hours of Friday morning at the Narrowcliff, affecting properties in the TR7 2 area.
The company confirmed at about 18:00 that the leak had been fixed.
In a statement, South West Water said: “We would like to thank our customers for their patience while we completed urgent repair work in the Newquay, TR7 2 area. We are pleased to confirm that supplies in the area are now restored.”
Earlier, South West Water had advised that supplies would return within two to three hours, but the work took longer than expected.
Toilets at the Narrowcliff Surgery and at the Town Council’s public facilities at the top of Tolcarne were unavailable during the day while the repair work was carried out.
