A village hall is set for its grand reopening this weekend after a major upgrade.
St Newlyn East Village Hall has been futureproofed with new solar panels, air source heat pumps, and EV charging points as part of the refurbishment.
The £195,000 project was funded through levelling-up money, with additional support from the Community Capacity Fund. The team has also thanked their architects, Ark from Newquay, and builders, West Country Maintenance Services.
Sunday’s reopening event will welcome members of the original Village Hall committee from when the building first opened in 1978. Residents will have the chance to look around and enjoy live music from the C-Birds shanty group and St Dennis Ukulele Band. The event begins at 11am on Sunday, 2nd March.
