Cornwall Youth Theatre Company is bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Newquay this week as part of its March tour across Cornwall.
Described as a dynamic, upbeat, and quirky retelling of Shakespeare’s classic, the production promises laughter, comedy, and magic. The talented young cast aims to impress audiences with their take on this timeless tale of love, mischief, and mistaken identities.
Expect a Duke and Duchess preparing for their wedding, an angry fairy king and his rebellious queen, four frustrated lovers, and a group of hopeless actors attempting to stage a play - all set within an enchanted forest.
Cornwall Youth Theatre Company celebrated it 40th anniversary last year. Over the last four decades it has worked with thousands of young performers, staging hundreds of productions across the county. Over the years, they have performed several of Shakespeare’s plays, including Twelfth Night, Macbeth, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream on three previous occasions.
The production will be performed at Treviglas on Thursday 13th March.
