A person has been airlifted to hospital by Air Ambulance following an incident at Fistral Beach on Monday.
The casualty, believed to be a surfer with a head injury, was assisted by a former lifeguard.
Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to the incident at around 12:50pm to assist with the helicopter landing, which took place at low tide.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said:
“We were called at 12:46hrs on Monday, 31 March, to an incident in Newquay. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, and an air ambulance to the scene. We conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Royal Cornwall Hospital.”
