Newquay Coastguard volunteers had a busy weekend during Boardmasters, responding to several incidents.
On Saturday lunchtime, they helped lifeguards at Porth Beach move a large group from Whipsiderry Beach due to the incoming tide. Later that evening, they assisted the ambulance service with a casualty at Porth Beach.
Sunday saw a similar call to help move people at Porth Beach because of the tide, followed by a joint response in the afternoon with Padstow volunteers, Newquay lifeboat crews, police, and Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 to an incident at Pentire Steps near Bedruthan Steps.
On Monday, the team helped Newquay Lifeboats after reports of a bodyboarder in difficulty at Crantock Beach. Two surfers rescued the person before the coastguard arrived and confirmed no medical attention was needed.
Later on Monday, at 12:40 pm, they assisted Devon and Cornwall Police with an incident on Glendorgal Headland, supported by lifeguards at Lusty Glaze. All agencies were stood down once the situation was resolved.
The Coastguard team thanked all members of the public and emergency services for their help over the weekend.
